Smoky Black Gelding -- Shadow
Shadow
I raised this boy to be my next riding horse. He’s been trained almost from birth using natural horsemanship skills (Parelli). I don’t believe in breaking horses at two years old so I waited on purpose to start riding him. I was having so much fun riding the mares that I put off breaking him to ride until the fall of 2007, so he was almost 3 1/2. One of my horse friends broke him to ride after the accident. Her first ride was bareback with a halter and a lead rope. She has put 60 days plus of riding on him. Shadow is blue papered and he stands 14.3 or 15 hands tall. He has been ridden bareback and with a saddle. He has been ridden with just a halter and lead rope and with the bridle and snaffle. He's a horse with a great personality -- friendly, curious, calm, and loves attention. He's easy to catch, loads, and trailers well. He has a pretty head and lots of style when he moves. He would be good for show, pleasure, cow work or anything you're in to. He has had regular worming and he is current on all his vaccinations. Shadow has had excellent care in a loving home all his life and I believe he will continue to do so in his new home.
I was also confused as to what his true color was so I had him DNA tested. It confirmed that Shadow is a true smoky black.
